The town has a picturesque setting and is often described as having many victorian and colonial homes, churches and a town hall and library that is set on a town square. Winding roads that are lined with trees and stone walls run throughout with historic farmhouses, apple and peach orchards peppered about.
Residents of Harvard enjoy events that take place in the area of the common. The Fourth of July parade and Apple Blossom Festival are just a few to name. Other recreational options include Bare Hill Pond where one can swim, sail or canoe during the summer months. Cross country skiing and skating can be enjoyed there in the winter.
